Wenlock Cellars is an independent, family-run wine and spirits shop established in 2026 with one simple aim: to create a welcoming local space where great drinks bring people together.
Our shelves feature a carefully curated collection of more than 200 wines from around the world, alongside over 50 whiskies—including old, rare and limited-edition bottles—and an equally impressive selection of rums. You’ll also find gin, vodka, craft beer and a variety of other spirits, all chosen with quality, value and our local community in mind.
We’re especially proud of our own exclusive range of wines and gins. Our four distinctive gins are made in Shropshire and include Heather Gin, Classic Dry Gin, Welsh Seaweed Gin and Honey Gin made using honey from Much Wenlock. Each one has been created to offer genuine character and a strong sense of place.
We also stock a carefully selected range of premium cigars, including several cigars that have previously been named Cigar Aficionado’s Cigar of the Year.
At the heart of the shop is our eight-bottle self-service wine machine, which allows you to explore a changing selection of wines at your own pace. Whether you’re enjoying a familiar favourite or stepping outside your comfort zone, it’s an easy and enjoyable way to discover something new.
Our collection is shaped by local tastes and customer feedback, and we’re committed to evolving alongside our community. As interests and buying habits change, so will our selection—including the continued expansion of our premium wines, rare spirits, cigars and limited-edition bottles.
We also host regular wine-tasting events designed to be social, relaxed and inclusive rather than overly formal or technical. Our team is WSET Level 2 trained in wine, but we believe the best tasting experiences are built around conversation, curiosity and shared enjoyment.
