Production
The Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot vines are cultivated in sandy-silt soils typical of the Bolgheri region. The grapes are carefully selected and undergo 18 days fermentation and maceration in stainless steel followed by 12 months maturation in French oak, and a further 3 months in bottle.
Tasting notes
Lifted aromas of fresh red berries and plum fruit with cedarwood, and gentle minty notes. The palate is ripe with layers of bramble and black cherry fruit balanced by savoury, spice and tobacco characters, supple tannins and a twist of sour cherry acidity on the finish.
Food match
Drink with ravioli and meat ragu, braised duck breast or grilled lamb chops.

Meet the Producer
The Bolgheri DOC (established in 1994) runs parallel to the Tuscan coast, bordering on the Ligurian Sea. The proximity to the coast brings light into the vineyards, and the moderate temperatures ensure a slow and regular ripening period for the grapes - maintaining fresh acidity and aromas.
The winery has 13.5 hectares of vineyard in the Bolgheri zone. 6 hectares are situated in the northern area of the DOC called Le Sondraie – just a couple of kilometres from the coast and due west of Siena. Vines here are around 10-15yrs old and planted in the sand-silt soils typical of the region (vineyard acquired in 2016).
In addition they have recently acquired a further 7.5ha of vineyard (and a further 3.5ha to be developed) further south. Vines here were planted from 2000 – and they are also investing in a new winery building.
International varieties dominate the region and this estate is no exception – with Merlot (4ha) and Cabernet Sauvignon (2ha) at Le Sondraie, and predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Syrah cultivated at their newer site.
