Rich, aromatic and full of character, La Gitana Vermut brings together beautifully aged Sherry and fragrant botanicals in a traditional Spanish aperitif.

Established in 1792, Bodegas Hidalgo La Gitana is one of Spain’s historic Sherry houses. Based in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, on Andalucía’s Atlantic coast, it is best known for its celebrated La Gitana Manzanilla and generations of expertise in maturing Sherry.

This vermouth draws on a recipe preserved in the bodega’s archives, reviving a style produced by Hidalgo during the 19th and 20th centuries. It combines Faraón Oloroso and Triana Pedro Ximénez Sherries, aged for at least 12 years through the traditional solera system in century-old casks. The blend then spends a further six months infused with aromatic herbs before being bottled at 15% ABV.

Nutty Oloroso provides depth and structure, while Pedro Ximénez adds sweetness and generous dried-fruit richness. The botanical infusion brings an aromatic lift and a gently bitter balance. The exact blend of herbs and botanicals remains a closely guarded house secret.
