A fine and beautifully mineral un-oaked Poully-Fuissé.
Production
Sourced from the limestone soils of the Les Creuzettes vineyard, from vines of at least 35 years old. The grapes are hand-picked, pressed and then cold fermented with ageing in stainless steel for 11 months.
Tasting notes
The nose is bright with aromas of acacia flowers and lemon. Freshly cut white peach, with hints of honey and a delicate creaminess. This is matched beautifully by a lively acidity which lasts right thorugh the long finish.
Food match
Shellfish and white fish in light, lemony sauces.

Meet the Producer
The 14.5 hectare Domaine G. Saumaize (formerly Domaine des Maillettes) is now run by Guillaume Saumaize, following the recent retirement of his mother, Annie. Tending to more than thirty parcels of vines (some up to 80 years old) spread across four renowned Mâconnais communes (Vergisson, Davayé, Solutré and Prissé), he produces fine Pouilly-Fuissé and a range of other Mâcon AOP wines.
In 2018, supported by investment from Michel Gayot, a new barrel cellar was built giving Guillaume more flexibility to vinify individual parcels of grapes separately and thus express their terroir even more clearly. The Chardonnays are classically styled, with part or full vinification in oak for richness and complexity.
A Note on Sustainability
Currently working towards HVE 3 certification, the domaine uses sustainable farming methods and minimal chemical interventions. Guillaume pays particular attention to preserving his soils, helping to highlight the specific terroir of each plot. When treatment is required, organic products are used whenever possible.
