🍊 Tasting Notes — Fertuna Vermentino Orange

Appearance

  • Deep amber‑gold with red‑gold highlights, a characteristic look from extended skin contact.

Aroma / Nose

  • Bright citrus notes — orange peel and grapefruit alongside fresh lemon zest.
  • White fruit touches like yellow apple, pear and stone fruit (peach).
  • Delicate balsamic / herbal nuances and floral hints (acacia, wildflowers) add complexity.
  • A slight saline or Mediterranean breeze character keeps the aromatics lively.

Palate

  • Fresh and lively acidity gives a crisp backbone.
  • The skin contact adds a subtle textural richness and light tannic grip, unusual for white wines but typical for orange styles.
  • Flavours mirror the nose with citrus, orchard fruits and a gentle honeyed or nutty edge.
  • Minerality and sapidity carry through to a long, savoury finish.

Overall Profile

  • Medium‑bodied yet structured and expressive, balancing freshness with aromatic depth and texture — a great intro to orange wines for white‑wine drinkers who appreciate more complexity.
