Production
The Lone Palms Hillside Shiraz is sourced from one of their best site, the west facing Hillside Block, located at South Marananga, the the Barossa Valley. The wine is aged in French and American oak for at least 18 months. Bottled without fining or filtration and vegan friendly.
Tasting notes
Lovely depth of colour, being an opaque, bloody red. The nose climbs from the glass with classic Barossa ferrous tones and summer pudding notes. The palate is rich yet alive, with a breadth of cassis, cinnamon, allspice and leather. It's a really rewarding glass of top Barossa Valley joy.
Food match
pair with juicy rump steak, seared tuna, rich roast veg dishes, hearty, proper chillis and fine, hard cheese. Lush.

Meet the Producer
The winery in the hamlet of Marananga was established in 1992 and has sublime vistas over its old vineyards. Ancient gums on rolling Barossa hills overlook Greenock and Seppeltsfield. Behind the small, hands-on winery is a classic, old-time Barossa homestead built in the late 1800s over which a single palm tree stands. All fruit is hand-harvested and naturally-fermented, aged largely in older French barriques and some larger vessels, also some American oak which suits the generosity of the reds here too. Inspired by old-school winemaking techniques Tom White champions natural winemaking from his old vines, respecting the traditional flavours of the Barossa.
