Montagny Les Macles, Domaine Berthenet 2021

VINE LOCATION - Macles is a plot located at the top of the hillside within the Montagny appellation. 

TERROIR & EXPOSURE - Facing southeast with a steep slope of over 40% for optimal sunlight, this plot sits at an altitude of 420 meters and comes from a very stony clay-limestone terroir. 

PLOT SIZE - The plot for this cuvée covers an area of 2.5 ha.

AVERAGE VINE AGE - The vines are around thirty years old. The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness to achieve the best balance and are then gently pressed at the estate. The must is placed in settling tanks for 24 to 48 hours at a low temperature. Then, part of it is vinified and aged on fine lees in stainless steel tanks to preserve all the freshness and fruit of our wines. The other part is fermented and aged in demi-muids.
