Oban - Bay Reserve (Game of Thrones) The Night's Watch

The brothers of the Night’s Watch swear a sacred oath, dedicating their lives to defending the Seven Kingdoms from the horrors that lurk beyond the ancient Wall of ice. From their stronghold at Castle Black, they stand guard over a frozen wilderness said to be home to giants, wildlings, and the Night King with his army of White Walkers, harbingers of the Long Night.

Much like Castle Black itself, Oban Distillery is nestled at the base of a steep cliff overlooking the bay, marking the frontier between Scotland’s West Highlands and the Islands. This sense of place is echoed in the whisky: rich and warming, yet perfectly balanced by a dry, woody spice—enough to fortify even the Night’s Watch against the deepest winter.

On the nose, this Oban opens with notes of fresh hay and tangy savoury aromas, before softening into cocoa and Morello cherries. The palate delivers immediate flavours of dark berry pie and liquorice, followed by toasted oak. Bright citrus and clove add lift and complexity, leading into a finish that returns to cherry and dark fruit, rounded with a subtle savoury edge.
